Our Story: It all started with a simple idea, a personal cookbook. We used it to create a quick serve casual restaurant called The Green Chicpea. Serving people a meal option that’s delicious and nutritious.

We started in 1997 located in midtown NYC under the name "The House of Pita". With our falafel and fresh salad bar, the store drew locals and travelers alike, thereafter, we became the go to place for falafels. Eventually, we moved to Newark NJ.
Our brand has become a name recognized for good falafel, hummus and value.
We are dedicated to offering fresh and nutritious meal to people. We use locally sourced produce and chicken in our restaurants.
